About Optima Time
A quieter standard for pre-owned watches.
Optima Time was started because the South African pre-owned watch market needed a calmer place to do business. Too many sellers, too little provenance, too much friction over what should be a straightforward purchase of a serviced, certified watch.
We do three things differently. Every watch on our floor has been authenticated and bench-tested by our watchmaker before it appears for sale. Every movement is regulated and pressure-tested in our own workshop. Every piece we sell carries our twelve-month mechanical warranty, regardless of brand or age.
You will not be dealt with by a salesperson on commission. You talk to Roland, the founder, directly. By phone, WhatsApp, or in person at the workshop.
When you buy a watch from Optima Time, you also get the option to bring it back. Service, sell, trade-in, or just a second opinion later. The relationship is the point.

Authentication first
Every watch is bench-tested and authenticated by our watchmaker before it goes on the floor. No exceptions.

Serviced in-house
Movements are inspected, regulated, and pressure-tested in our Pretoria workshop. We sell what we would wear ourselves.

Twelve-month warranty
Mechanical cover on every watch we sell, regardless of brand or age. Bring it back if anything is off.

Personal handling
Founder-led. You speak to Roland directly. No call centres, no scripts, no surprises after the sale.
